Binding
Perfect-bound softcover
The pages are gathered and glued into a wrap cover, so the finished book has a square spine. That spine can carry a title once it is wide enough. Width depends on the page count and the paper, which we calculate with the quote.
All six bindings are products we print. Next-morning production is not confirmed for every binding or quantity. Ask when you quote this one.

Softcover books
A book with a front, a back, and a spine, rather than a punched edge.
Catalogs
Product and program catalogs that need to be stacked, shelved, or mailed as books.
Annual reports
A bound report that should read as a publication.
Commemorative programs
Longer programs where a staple in the fold is no longer enough book.
How the binding behaves
Perfect binding glues the text block into a wraparound cover. The book opens as a softcover, not flat like wire or coil, and it stands on a shelf. A very short book may not have a useful spine. We will say so when we quote, rather than lock a title into a spine that cannot hold it. We do not publish a minimum page count.
Quoted by Tri State Printer, based in Port Chester, NY. Most of the printing is produced off-site.
Preparing this file
01
Interior file
Single pages in reading order. Do not send the cover inside the text PDF unless you label it.
02
Cover separately
Ask us to set the wrap, or supply art only after the spine width is known. Do not guess the spine and lock type into it.
03
Bleed
If cover art runs to the trim, include bleed. The file preparation page describes the usual request.
04
Paper
Text and cover can differ. Describe the feel you want. The quote names the sheet.
